I suppose some people may want to know who I am, but there’s really not much to tell. I was named Timothy Watson Dittmer at birth, but went with the Tee Dubyah for my writing because I thought it might add some class to the act. My friends call me Tim.
I was raised in Gary, Indiana. Iron and steel city. After high school, I enlisted in the army and volunteered for service in Vietnam, then reenlisted for Vietnam. Since I got out of the army, I’ve done a lot of things to make a living, not all of them pretty.
Now I’m a self-published author, my novels available at Amazon. The covers are displayed there on the right, and if you click on a cover you’ll be taken to the Amazon site where you can purchase it. Using the “Look inside” function, you can read the first few chapters to see if it’s something you’d enjoy.
If you want to dig deeper into who I am, you can look into posts under “Personal Stuff.” I hope you don’t end up hating me.
You can find out more about “The Valley Walker” on the About The Valley Walker page of this blog. The summarizing paragraphs of some reviews are subgroups of the page. I invite you to browse through them and see what you think.
I’ve bumped into a lot of bright, educated people since I started this journey, but deep down inside I’m still just a guy. I don’t have a cause. I’m not out to change the world, or even change your mind about anything. I’m not out to see how many followers I can get. I don’t care about Klout.
And rest assured, I’m not in this for the money. If you take a look at my retirement fund there on the left, you’ll understand why. It doesn’t take an accountant to figure out that I’m pretty much set for life.
So, why am I doing this? Why go through all the trouble of writing a book, self-publishing it and setting up a blog, if not for sales?
That’s a very good question.
I suppose I could try to weave some tale about the burning desire, the urge that drove me to near insanity until I just HAD to put my thoughts into words. Or I could tell you some epic story about the tragic events that led me to write. I’d rather just tell you the truth.
And the truth of it is, I just want to tell a story… hopefully the kind of story that makes a reader think… makes them smile or makes them cry… maybe jerks them around a little bit and makes them go “Huh?”.
