On this day, fifty years ago, I married my Sunshine.

The young girl I called Sunshine turned out to be a loving and compassionate companion, a wonderful mother to our children and now, a terrific grandmother to our grandchildren.
It has been quite a ride, with so many ups and downs and twists and turns it could make a normal person dizzy. I guess I’m not normal, because I’ve sure enjoyed it, and I’m beyond glad that we got together. Actually, I don’t know what I would have done without her.
If you want to learn how I started calling a girl named Chris my Sunshine, you might want to read “Sunshine’s Pop-top.”
Happy anniversary, Chris. You’re still my Sunshine.
Amazing Tim.
I read: βSunshineβs Pop-top.β Made me cry, but a good, happy cry. Happy Anniversary to you and Chris. May you celebrate many many more.

Tim — every woman in the world wants to be loved and cherished like this. You two are incredibly blessed to have found each other. However, we know that was God’s plan, all along. Happy Anniversary!

You are a lucky man, Tim, to find the one woman that loves you back as much as you love her. Congratulations!

I agree, Dannie. Pure luck that I was home on Christmas leave and met her through my sister, at church, no less.

Lovely photo and story, Tim, and I read Sunshine’s wonderful story too. My husband and I will celebrate 33 years in four months and feel the same way about each other as you and your wife do after all these years. But we met in a funny way, which is noted in my book. π Anyway, thank you for sharing this beautiful memory.

Thanks for adding my book to your list, Tim. I hope you enjoy the many memories, and I have done the same with The Valley Walker which has me intrigued. It’s nice to meet you from John’s blog.
