My oldest daughter, an architect who earned her Masters from Columbia University, lives and works in Detroit. She’s very active in the movement to bring the city out of the downward spiral it’s been in for decades. The problems they’re facing are formidable, but it seems that progress is being made… inch by agonizing inch.
I just wanted to share a link to one of the websites she helps maintain for Hamilton Anderson, the agency she works for. The latest article she posted is The Urban Playground, and talks just a bit about the future these young people envision.
I guess I’m bragging here, and hope you’ll overlook it.
Yo TW. Howard saying hi over on your site. Nice, by the way, the colors are warm 🙂

Funny thing happened. I ended up liking all three of my kids. They’re good people.

Good for her! And kudos to you for raising such a wonderful human being.
I was on Google a few weeks ago searching for abandoned homes for an art project and was saddened to realized that majority of them were in Detroit. It’ll be wonderful to see the city come back to life.

Pretty proud of all three of my kids. But for Detroit, it’s a tough row to hoe. Money’s pretty hard to come by.

🙂 It’s ok. I guess we all have been off the grid for the past couple of days. I too haven’t been too regular here for quite some time now.
